Seanne & Mark
The brief to Alun was for a kitchen that was practical; used existing appliances and was ‘somehow’ linked to the garden. Alun delivered a design beyond expectations; it makes the best of the space, successfully integrated the appliances and blends beautifully into the garden thanks to the gorgeous Fern Green colour.
Alun is a very experienced designer and readily offered much practical and helpful advice throughout. The whole process felt almost bespoke. Alun spent much time sourcing the right units to fit into each space with each option being discussed with us until we were all happy. Particular, (and inspired) thought was given to the creation of a pantry to contain all the bits that would usually fit into a utility room (boiler, storage, cleaning products etc). A few phone calls were spent discussing fridge doors (type of opening/size and angle) in order to ensure that it would fit and that its doors wouldn’t impede the opening of other units. Alun was always happy to discuss any concerns that came up.
The quality of the units and the fittings is a major feature. Wooden doors were chosen – they are tactile and solid and carry the fixtures and fittings beautifully.
Although they weren’t sourced from Amethyst, Alun was also instrumental in helping choose the layout and the type of material used for the worktops. As the choice of worktops was somewhat overwhelming, this was much appreciated. It has ‘made’ the kitchen.
The service throughout was exceptional, with regular visits during the build to check on progress. Alun’s communication with the building team was seamless and if a minor issue cropped up, it was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We had total peace of mind throughout the installation.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this friendly, experienced and talented company.
